CHAIR

Andy Reed has been involved in District work and a Supervisor for over 20 years having also served on the Waldo County Extension Board. In addition to serving as Chair for Waldo County he also serves as President of the Maine Association of Conservation Districts and chair of the Envirothon Fund Raising Committee. He is also on the Board of the Maine Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation having a chestnut orchard on his property. He represents the town of Unity on the Friends of Lake Winnecook board, which is implementing a 10-year Watershed-based Management Plan, sponsored by the Friends of Lake Winnecook and the Waldo County Soil and Water Conservation District. He is retired and lives in Unity with his wife Gayle on a certified Tree Farm.

VICE CHAIR

Harold Larrabee owns and operates Aghaloma Farms in the town of Knox. This is a third-generation family dairy farm, managing almost 900 head of Holstein cattle. Harold’s passion for the dairy industry, dedication and commitment to his family and friends, and his faith in God are his legacy. Harold has been involved with the District for over 60 years.

TREASURER

After serving as an Associate Supervisor, Gene Randall joined the Board in 2019 as a Supervisor and now serves as Treasurer. Gene has extensive experience with non-profit organizations and finance, and many years of experience as an accountant. He is also the Treasurer for the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition and his condominium association.

SECRETARY

Drew was appointed to the WCSWCD board in 2023. His career included periods with the State of Maine, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, MIT Rotch Library GIS Lab, and private consulting for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other clients. He holds degrees in Ecology, Agricultural Economics, Business, and Library Science. Since retiring he has focused on improving Waldo County's environment through work with the Belfast Garden Club, Coastal Mountains Land Trust, Waterfall Arts, Maine Coastal Observers Alliance, and gardening in his Belfast back yard.

ASSOCIATE SUPERVISOR

Rachel Olsen joined the Board as an Associate Supervisor in February 2024. She lives in Waldo County with her husband, daughter, dog, and chickens and has a bookkeeping business. She has a background in nonprofit management and administrative support, having worked with several nonprofits and environmentally-focused small businesses. Rachel is an avid gardener and permaculturist and a long-time volunteer at Hope’s Edge Farm. She also serves as Treasurer on the Board of Protect Ancient Forests, a Maine-based nonprofit working to protect important forests all across the country.

ASSOCIATE SUPERVISOR

Don served as a Supervisor for Orange County, North Carolina SWCD for 35 years. He has served as a Supervisor or Associate Supervisor for Waldo County SWCD since 2012. He served on the Friends of Sears Island Board for a few years and completed the Penobscot Bay Stewards program. Don holds membership in MOFGA, Maine Farmland Trust, and several other local organizations.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Cassidy Gerrish joined Waldo County SWCD in February 2024. She graduated from UMPI in 2020 with a degree in Environmental Science and received a GIS certificate. Cassidy worked as a conservation technician intern for Knox/Lincoln SWCD and Waldo SWCD in 2021 mapping and removing invasive plants. She has also worked as a landscaper for the city of Belfast and residentially.
