We will trace past and present day land uses of the Richardson Memorial Preserve in Unity as related to soils, geography and agricultural markets over time. In the process we will discover some historical relics offering clues of past land uses. We will walk approximately one mile on uneven terrain while exploring soils, geology, vegetation and land uses while discovering some historical relics. Bring comfortable walking shoes, bug repellant and water.

Starting Location: The Sebasticook Regional Land Trust, Richardson Memorial Preserve kiosk and parking area is located on the Stevens Rd Unity, ME. Specifically the kiosk and parking area will be found on the south side of the Stevens Rd about 200’ east of the Bailey Rd/Stevens Rd intersection.
