Planting for a Changing World
November 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
A talk by Technical Director Aleta McKeage, November 17th, 12 noon – 1pm. Natural systems of Maine are undergoing rapid, devastating change due to a convergence of many factors including climate change and invasive species. The effects together have a complex, negative synergy that worsens the impacts of each. Many birds, wildlife and insect species are experiencing significant decline. In spite of these challenges, hope and a spirit of healing and restoration is a way of being we can adopt as gardeners, as there is much we can do to directly address climate change and the degradation of our natural surroundings on our own property. This talk will provide specific ideas for taking effective, restorative action in our gardens and in our communities.
This program will be offered live by a ZOOM virtual presentation by the Belfast Garden Club. Register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
